Wanda Kay Clark Obituary

Wanda Kay Clark, 68 of Gainesville died Thursday September 23, 2021.

Funeral Services will be held at 4 pm Sunday September 26, 2021 at the Little Davenport Chapel, the Rev. David Carrithers and Rev. Phillip Wehunt will officiate, burial will follow in the Rock Hill Congregational Holiness Church Cemetery and the family will receive friends Saturday at the funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm.

The many friends and families that crossed paths with Wanda knew her to have a quiet and gentle nature. Behind Wanda's Quiet nature lay a passion to see children receive the best possible education starting as early as kindergarten. Wanda believed that the foundation laid for a child early on would have a forever impact on them as an adult. That passion led her to a career spanning 33 years as a kindergarten teacher.

Although Wanda loved her kindergarten students beyond words, her love for teaching did not end with public school. Having attended Rock Hill Congregational Holiness Church as a small child and throughout the majority of her life, she also had a passion for children to learn about Jesus. Wanda used her talents teaching many children who came through those church doors as well.

While her kindergarten and church students brought her great joy, Wanda's dream of having a child of her own never wavered. Although she had a strong family and community ties, Wanda always felt something was missing from her life. Once retired from public teaching, the opportunity presented itself and Wanda opened not only her home, but her heart as well, to her daughter Mia Kate. The love between a mother and daughter ensued and Wanda knew Mia was her greatest accomplishment in life.

Surviving are her daughter - Mia Kate Clark, sister and brother in law - Denise and Gilbert Adams, brother and sister in law - Nick and Lavenia Clark, Niece and spouse - Kendra and Buck Nation, Niece - Jessie Clark all of Gainesville, Nephew - Michael Adams of Ellijay and a great niece and nephew - Katie and Coltyn Sosebee.

She was preceded in death by father Bill Clark and mother Kate Clark.
