WAYNE HOWARD JR, 52, departed this life on February 13, 2024.
He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Christine Howard, half-brother Ronnie Stanley, Kari [Hood] King his closest friend and confidante, a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. And I can’t forget his best four-legged friend, DJ.
Born February 13, 1972, At Crawford Long Hospital to Loye and Wayne Howard Sr. Wayne, to all that knew him, was an avid heavy metal music lover and electric guitar player. He took being a musician very seriously and won 96Rock’s Battle of the Bands in the 1990’s and continued to play with the band Meanstreet. I’m not sure you could introduce him to someone without him not bringing this up. To say he was proud is an understatement. He attended the Atlanta Institute of Music. He worked for Budweiser and became an HVAC tech until he was hit by a car. That ended his “corporate” career, but he managed. I’ve had many years knowing and living with Wayne and while his soul was troubled from time to time, he was a good man with a good heart. With God’s grace, he is at peace now.
There is no scheduled service currently. Wayne was cremated and his ashes will be scattered in places that were special. As a final gift from me, I will leave some of his ashes at his idol, Dimebag Darrell’s burial site.
