I was shocked and saddened when told of Hal's passing. I worked with Hal the last few years in San Antonio and even earlier at Fort McPherson. He was always ready with a handshake and his big hearty laugh, even in the toughest of times. He was dedicated to his job but you could always tell, his family was foremost in his daily thoughts. He was sorry to leave but glad he was headed home to family. RIP Hal Kelley, thanks for the friendship.

To Hal's Family, my deepest condolences to you. I worked with Hal the last few years before he retired from civil service and a finer person does not exist. He was kind, thoughtful, smart and caring not to mention had a marvelous sense of humor. When he retired, the organization we work for realized a tremendous loss. Now that he is gone from this world just rejoice in the thought that he will bring his wonderful gifts to his next destination. Hal was a great man and will be sorely missed.

I am so sorry of your loss. Losing a loved one to death can be a very painful event. The Bible calls death an enemy and unfortunately none of us can outrun it or fight it off. Many of us have seen this enemy claim the lives of people dear to us. We can however be thankful of the promises that Jehovah God (Psalms 83 vs 18) has for our dear dead loved ones. The Bible teaches, “the last enemy death is to be brought to nothing” 1 Corinthians 15 vs 26 and “there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.” (Acts 24:15). Even more comforting is Revelation 21 vs 4 that states: “. . . he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” May these scriptures from the holly writings bring comfort to your family as well as the assurance that death is not the end of everything for God does not lie (Numbers 23 vs 19).

One of my fond memories is of Hal driving us in that big Suburban through the Tulip fields in Holland when I visited them.

Kelly family,
My name is Joe, Hal, as I knew him were friends in school, I remember his dad and the Western Auto Store, Hal was always the tall one! But Hal and I did things together, like take a trip to Panama City Beach in my Triumph TR 3 sports car! His long legs, and our gear strapped to the back on the trunk luggage rack! I think we were real cool emulating the TV shows of the 60's. Hal and I connected at a reunion think it was the 35th I think and reminisced. He had a great love of the lord and country and us both being veterans had a lot in common. We loose another one from the class of THS 1965, but the ultimate reward is so much better. Blessings to you all may God bless you and may you find comfort in him.
