I learned last night of the passing of Fern ODell Dove and though it saddened me I couldn't help but think of the happiness she must have felt to be reunited with her beloved Buddy and other family members but most of all her Lord and Savior. I have loved her since I was a child and always looked forward to seeing her and Buddy at the Poole Reunion. They liked to share with me about my granddaddy marrying them. I always sat down and talked to them and will surely miss seeing them. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this time. May God bless you all.

Fern Odell Dove was not only a family favorite but obviously favored by GOd as HE took her home to be with the love of her life Buddy Dove shortly after he journeyed there! To Betty Sue & Maggie of my age group, I love you & love Fern. I was out of town & found out today. To the other family members I offer only love for your loss but Heaven's bounty of another sweet member. Fern & Buddy were anchors at the September Poole reunion for many years & it was different after all the cousins passed to their glory or unable to attend! But we will go & miss them so much because it represents what they stood for Family & heritage! Please accept my love at this time because words don't really work, I can say Fern was genuinely loving plus beautiful inside and out! I just adored her & Buddy both & treasure my time with them, mostly at the annual reunion, but they are people that stay in ones heart always! RIP sweet cousins & God sustain those closest!

I am so sorry to have read of your loss. Please accept my sincere condolences. Something that I have personally found to be of great comfort is what the Bible says at John 5:28, 29 as well as Revelation 21:4. These verses show us that soon God is going to bring about a resurrection of our loved ones as well as do away with all causes we have for suffering including sickness and death. Knowing this has always comforted me and it is my sincere hope that these thoughts comfort your family as well. Again I am so sorry for your loss.

Ferne was always more like a sister to me because of the special relationship She had with my Mom, Rebecca, & Dad, John. M & D emotionally adopted LaFerne on
July 4/5, 1941. M & D were married mid-morning on the 4th in Hiawassee. By the time they traveled to Gainesville it was time for Dad' s shift at Gainesville Mill. So He left Mom with the Crazy O'Dell clan NOT one of which she had Ever met. At Mama Sallie & Papa Sap's house that night on Brown' s Bridge Rd was Blanche, Ruby, George, and Precious 2 yr 8 mo old FaFerne. By the time Dad got Home Mom had fallen in LOVE with Ferne and by the end of the 5th Dad had Also. Susie & Ray both worked nights @ New Holland Mill so LaFerne stayed @ Mama Sallie' s from Monday - Friday. Mom & Dad took LaFerne to help relieve some of M S' s load because she cared for other children Also. Ferne was one of the MOST Beautiful Young Ladies, both Inside & Outside, i ever Knew. Then Buddy Dove WON Life' s Lottery and Won Ferne' s Heart. She NEVER Changed and was the PERFECT Proverb 31 wife until Buddy Went Home. SO, Celebrate Mightily with those O'Dell & Dove clansmen who preceded You to the presents of JESUS and Wear that Gaudy CROWN with Dignity for You both earned & deserve it.
