Oliver “Buddy” Hulsey, Jr.

Mr. Oliver “Buddy” Hulsey, Jr., 69 of Lula died Monday July 3, 2017 at his residence following an extended illness.

Born in Commerce, Georgia, Mr. Hulsey was the son of the late Oliver, Sr. and Reba Denton Hulsey.  He had lived in Hall County for most of his life.  He had served in the United States Army and was self-employed as a truck driver for over 30 years.  Mr. Hulsey was a member of Springway Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Beverly Hulsey, Lula; daughters and sons-in-law, Anita and Stephen Deraney, Hoschton; Shelly and Todd Upshaw, Buford; sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Karen Burgess, Gainesville; Donny and Sharon Hulsey, Braselton; Mark and Dawn Hulsey, Jefferson; Dusty and Trisha Hulsey, Gainesville; sister, Reba Nell Wade, Alto.  11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild also survive.

Mr. Hulsey is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bobby Hulsey.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday July 6, 2017 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home.  Rev. Randy Johnson and Rev. Jeff Morgan will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Wednesday July 5 from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday from 2-3 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Hospice of Northeast Georgia, 2150 Limestone Pkwy # 222, Gainesville, GA 30501.
